ACS on the Road in NYC

During this event, Donna Daily from the American Community Survey (ACS) Office at the U.S. Census Bureau briefly introduced the survey and discussed recent changes to the ACS, including innovations in how the data were collected and revisions to survey questions. She also discussed recent testing of new and revised content for the ACS, helpful resources for data users, and how to stay engaged with the ACS program.

Noemi Mendez, a Data Dissemination Specialist (DDS) of the Dissemination Outreach Branch at the Center for Enterprise Dissemination, discussed updates to data.census.gov, the Census Bureau's primary data dissemination tool, as well as the Census application programming interface (API) and microdata access tool (MDAT).

Joli Golden, a Data Dissemination Specialist (DDS) for the Census Bureau based in New York, discussed how DDS could help you and your organization by providing trainings, workshops, and presentations at no cost.

Lillian Kilduff of the Population Reference Bureau shared how you could join the ACS Data Users Group.

Finally, the expert NYC ACS data user panel featured individuals and organizations in New York City that use the ACS to inform their work. Panelists discussed how they use the data to generate evidence that informs policymaking, housing, and economic development throughout the state.
