Hello, I wanted to ask about US Census table DP03. I am interested pulling US Census poverty figures at the Census tract level. How can I know if a data point is suppressed. For example, a Census tract 2604.03 in Baltimore City has a margin of error of 46.6% and a point estimate of 0%. But there are no notes attached to this data point indicating whether the US Census may be suppressing a non-zero value.
Hello,
That is a zero estimate, rather than a suppressed data point. In their documentation, the Census Bureau notes that "There is only one circumstance where data quality filtering rules apply to ACS 5-year data. For selected ACS 5-year medians that are based on dollars, if the MOE is greater than the estimate itself, then the median will not be published."
