Research on the Use of Administrative Records in the ACS

Over the last few weeks, the American Community Survey has release multiple documents regarding the potential use of administrative records in the ACS. Here are some links to that information.

  • A recent America Counts article discusses why the ACS is interested in the use of administrative records and how they could be used in the survey.
  • A working paper and accompanying data visualization have been published to show how the direct substitution of survey response with administrative data would impact estimates.
  • A report charting the proposed path forward with the use of the administrative records and the ACS.
