Good morning all. This is my first time posting here and am thankful I found this resource. I am a researcher working on a project using the ACS and wanted to know if anyone has developed tax filing units (usually family members and other relatives that file under the same tax return)? Are there recommendations for best practices for researchers trying to develop tax units in the ACS? Perhaps you know of code available online to do this? I have been using the IPUMS version of the ACS, taking advantage of the linkages between kids and parents and spouses. I have made a lot of headway myself, but seem to have too few tax units and am hoping to benefit from other approaches
