Anyone know where to get the big data files?

I don't have access to the embargoed files, but if you have a username and password, you might try this: Go to the page for the 2013 downloads (www2.census.gov/.../), right click on the 2013 version of the file you want and click on "copy link location". Paste it into a new browser tab, and change the URL from 2013 to 2014 wherever applicable. It will ask you for a username and password, so I don't know what happens after that.

So for example, if you wanted the 2014 5-year All Geographies file, the 2013 URL is www2.census.gov/.../All_Geographies_Not_Tracts_Block_Groups.tar.gz, so try www2.census.gov/.../All_Geographies_Not_Tracts_Block_Groups.tar.gz.

No, www2.census.gov is public. The new data won't appear there until after the embargo lifts.

Just received this word from Tom Edwards at the Census Bureau:

"Per our conversation, the SDCs alerted the Census Bureau late yesterday that our ACS 2014 5-Year Summary File was not available during embargo. We are very appreciative of that notification.

Based on past year process and protocol, Summary File should be part of the embargo. The data have been copied to our development site and are in the process of being staged. They should be available shortly.

Once I receive notification that they are available through the embargo, I will let you know."
