Hello,
I am trying to explore the data from the ACS on Micronesian populations and had a question about how the data is organized. Under the category of race by Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders I see the numbers for Micronesian by breakdown of origin (Chamarro, Marshallese, other). However, is the Micronesian data linked to the other ACS questions? For instance, can I filter by those who are Micronesian and their responses to housing, poverty questions, etc?
Thank you,
Brittany
You would need microdata for that — Ipums.org — get detailed race and then filter by that value.
I believe the sample sizes are much too small for that sort of breakdown. The closest you could get is by Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander. And even that will be limited. Check out the Appendices file (Appendix A) in the Summary File documentation for a list of the tables. I believe the ones that end in E (e.g. B17020E) are for Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander Alone). www.census.gov/.../summary-file-documentation.html
or use PUMS like Tim says! :)
