  • RE: Uneducated Physical Therapists

I'm somewhat new to using the data, and I'm not familiar with the imputation flag variables. I'll be reading the data accuracy file, but so far, I've just worked through the dictionary: https://www2.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/tech_docs…

  • Small area estimation and the Census Supplemental Poverty Measure

    Dear All,

I am continuing to work on my small area estimation package.

The package takes PUMS data along with tract and blockgroup tables and produces "synthetic" PUMS data for tracts and blockgroups.

The package uses "normal" PUMS data for…

    Look at

    DP04  Selected Housing Characteristics

If you need to get individual utility costs (may be included in rent) you need to use Microdata (PUMS)

For these types of multi-way crosstabs, the Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) is your best bet. You can access data and documentation here: https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/microdata.html

    Hello,

In my current project, I need to analyze some housing trends using PUMS data (housing needs assessment and estimating the future housing demand and so on).

However, changing PUMA boundaries is making my job harder. Currently, I am working with…

There is BDSP and/or RMSP in the ACS PUMS data.  You might be able to use this as a proxy for square footage. You probably want to leverage this with other PUMS variables as covariates.  You would also need a regression model going from rooms and other…

    Dear Steve,

What is the city ?  If you can send state name county and csd (county subdivision) or place (fips and name) or csd (name and fips)  I can run it using PUMS data and my Small Area Estimation program.

    Best,

    Dave

  • RE: Methodology for HUD Income Levels?

    David Dorer
    David Dorer

I'm working on a related project that tries to do a similar analysis by recreating the HUD AMI data (as close as possible) using ACS (PUMS) data (via Small Area Estimation if needed).

One issue that I have is finding a cross walk between HUD AMI areas…
