  • RE: Tenure by income by race by county

    Tim Henderson
    Tim Henderson

Yes I did something like this here for zip code and for income I just grabbed household income by race to see if the effect was different in higher-income Black areas  (not really) -- zip code is not an optimal geography but some of my examples in suburban…

  • No new ZCTAs for 2020 ACS?

    Bert Sperling
    Bert Sperling

I've been busy setting up the new set of geographies from the 2020 ACS and found that this year's set of ZCTAs is exactly the same as last year.
32989 and they are all the same.

I know there have been a number of new zip codes created in the last…

A few minutes after I posted I figured out the  geo type for ZCTA (860)..  I was reading the the documentation and they only gave a few examples and ZCTA wasn't listed.   The summary files are pipe "|" delimited with headers.…

  • RE: How to get the most general statistics at state-county-census track-block group level detail

Also for business stats you might look at County/Zip Code Business Patterns, lots of munginess from non disclosure so read up, but you generally get # businesses by type, employees and payroll www.census.gov/.../cbp.html

Hello, new to the forum Wave

I’m exploring data in the ACS 5-year survey data. I thought I’d look at the census tract-level, but notice that in many tables the data has large margins of error, with a coefficient of variation 50% or more (scre…

    Hi Terie,

When you search for a ZCTA, the dropdown menu shows results for both ZCTAs and ZIP codes:

Is it possible you clicked on the ZIP code instead of the ZCTA? There isn't ACS data for ZIP codes (which are not technically areal units, just a collection…

Hi there - I'm trying to download a broad array of demographic data by MSA or zip code from the ACS through data.census.gov (e.g. age distribution for each MSA, gender makeup of each MSA). Does anyone know an efficient way to do this?
